I made canopys for my F2880 and my BX. Happened to find the canvas shades (5) for $6 at a yard sale in Florence, SC and bought the stainless steel clamps at a local industrial supply company for $23. If there is any interest, I will supply more pictures of clamps.

I am currently constructing one out of 1" & 1 1/4" square tubing and a hard poly golf cart cover purchased from a local golf cart refurbishing dealer.
I will take photos and post soon. C-YA RL

OK here are the photos that I promised. I have a total of about $85.00 in this one. That includes the cost for the tubing, tubing caps, bolts, paint, some angle for brackets and of course the poly top. I know I know it is not that cheap---but have you priced the ones from the dealer or after market shade suppliers?
I still have to weld on the mounting brackets, and I will take additional photos to show the results once mounted. C-YA RL

That look like it's going to work out really well. I may have to see if I can find a canopy like that around here. What are your thoughts for the actual mounting brackets on the ROPS?

Here is something that I threw together on Aut-Cad. I hope you can decifer it. I know it may seem like a little overkill, but I want to make sure that the many trees that I have to maneuver through will not tear it off.
Thanks for asking C-YA RL

Insp Gadget, wow that is great! I priced a Kubota canopy at our local dealer, they wanted $463.00 for it!
$85 is a whole lot better!I'm thinking of trying to make one out of PVC and then use sheet metal 5-v to make the top. thanks for the plan too! Chris |

True the PVC won't be as strong. (I need to invest in a welder.
Just bought a new Husky chainsaw so there goes the welder $$.)I'll try with sch 40 and glue it (when I get a chance). Keep y'all updated. |
