I don't wax mine but I wouldn't fault anyone who did. With what I've seen people put into their "disposable" cars I'm not surprised people would wax the rims on their favorite machine.

For many here, I believe their tractors represent a significant investment and a luxury of sacrifice.

I knock out the big chunks with a screwdriver once in a while...does that count?

I may have even sprayed one of my rims with a hose once...don't remember...

No, but I armor-all my seat. I locked up the brakes, slid into the steering wheel and now I'll be picking up my kids at an orphanage. It does look nice though.

I have before, but its been a long time.....I blow the tractor off with compressed air after each mowing session, and I usually wash it up good with soap and water a couple times a year. Once a year or so, If I have time, a quick wax on the hood, fenders, loader, and wheels. yeah, yeah, I know its a tractor, and its not babied.....but I keep all my stuff nice and it will be worth more down the road. My BX is for residential use, so if it was used on the farm, I probably wouldn't be able to keep as clean.

My dog washes my wheels. As long as I roll them some every day he eventualy works his way around them. He also does my truck tires.

My dog washes my wheels.
THAT'S right. You just reminded me. It wasn't a hose at all!!! Just noticed the wheel was wet...

Well now I should go hose it off for real, I guess...

This is what my tractor looks like after a day's work, often as not:

From this you can tell two things: 1) My tractor gets used hard and 2) There is no substitute for R1s.

So its no garage queen. And until recently if lived totally outdoors. With this sort of use (susbtitute the mud dust and weeds for when its dry) I rinse my machine off after most heavy use. Wash it once or twice a year. Waxed it once, just hood and fenders. That's why it still looks like this (before use) after 3 years of work:

Now, I'm guessing this post is a poke at a now famous new member. But my tractor is due for a wash and wax and while I'm at it I may very well wax the rims and the ROPS. Might sound nuts to some, but if I have the time and the inclination, why not? It will last longer, keep its value longer and the truth is, mud, dirt and dust all rinse off a waxed surface easier. I'll keep you posted.

Dude, what's that scratch I see in the lug of your tire? You'd better see someone about that.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Apologies all around.

P.S.: For the record, I will NOT be putting Armour All on the tires or fuzzy dice on the ROPS.

And that scratch was probably from the tire spinning against the ROPS of a John Deere sub compact with R4's on it that was buried in the same mud hole as me. Of course I then egnaged the diff lock and roared out like a super hero as the little Deere sank into oblivion as I pounded my chest and gave a Tarzan yell.
