Grease fittings on front PTO shaft - need to change to 45 degree fittings?

Has anyone else had to change the grease fittings on the front PTO shaft of a BX2300 (runs a front mount snowblower) because of short clearance and inability to get a grease gun (even with a flexible hose) to attach to the fittings?

I grease them when it is off the tractor. I also use HD marine wheel bearing grease. It stands up better to the weather and snow conditions.
