Just curious how you fellow L3400 owners like your tractor. Recently purchased one and so far so good. Thanks.

I love mine. I've had Ford 8N & 9N, JD 750 & 4300. This is the best one I've ever had.

Mine is great ... I did have a Massey ferguson TO35, which has about the same horsepower, but the Kubota is so much easier to use, what with the power steering and four wheel drive. The front end loader is much better too. The only negative thing I have noticed is that the Kubota is much more tippy than the Massey Ferguson due to it's narrower width & higher center of gravity, so I have to be careful on slopes that I previously never worried about. Other than that, I love it.

Well, had to work out a few bugs but now it's everything I could ever want in a tractor, shy of being greedy. It's great, I love it.

Check your suspension seat. Mine was frozen solid, it's worth freeing up if it is. Wish I knew to do it 150 hours earlier.

I have about 165 hours on mine now and it is great!!!

here are just a few of my chores for the tractor....

1. weekly driveway work-- 1/4 mile of gravel with 4 different slope inclines.
it is only a year old still getting all the drainage right. and getting it packed..

2. Log movement- we had over 40 trees cutdown and we are dragging 8 to 12 foot logs from areas to the firewall work area (the trees made over 100 logs! since most were at least 20 feet tall-only have about 25 or so left)

3. property cleanup. the property is part of an old family plot that has not been maintained much in the last 10 years. lots of banks to push away from the driveway

4. backfill around the new house. backfilled the garage- 20x25 x 3 (avg of 3 feet, max was 6 feet) MAN this was a job!!!

5. Mulch spreading-- had 12 yards delivered and dumped and spread it to 3 sides of the house and raked it by hand.

6. Trail repair. had an old logging road that we turned into an ATV trail.

7. minor snow removal. got rid of 2 inches twice so it would not become ice..

and almost forgot--
8. Final grading around the house -- Still need to rent a pulverizer and do it again this spring for grass planting..

The only issue I have ever had is the tipping issues mentioned before..
But since this is my first tractor I kinda think it is partial my inexperience...

just my 0.02 cents worth!

J

My 2006 L3400 HST is a real workhorse. Wished I had have bought a tractor years ago. Great power and traction. I run a 3pt chipper, snowthrower and a set of forks for my loader. Great on fuel and easy to run. :D

100 hours on my 2006. Zero problems. I always run out of traction waaaay before I run out of power.

I use my L3400 to haul wood, blow snow;

and other jobs.

I have 45 hours on it so far, and am very satisfied,

Roger.

ok--- Let me edit this little part.
we had a solid foot of snow that started the day after I wrote that!!
It started the 1st and finished the 2nd..
Anyway-- Still VERY happy..

and that logging road into an ATV trail..
Well it is getting into even better shape...

The pics below are after some work has been done..
I am pulling the bank down and filling in the tilt in the road..
and YES it is that steep and curvy!

so far I have about 400 yards done of about 900 that doable with the 3400...
The rest will need a much bigger tractor, maybe a large trachoe...

J
