Bx 25 Hst Fan Removal Frustrations

Okay I read all the forms on the removal of the hst fan and am now going to blown up my tractor.I have the motor off her mounts on a hoist and am attempting to remove the shaft with no avail.Does one have to remove the shaft at the engine first?Tried this but it just keeps rotating the drive shaft.
Tried to slide the drive shaft forward with no luck.How the **** does the mount that the fan is attached too come apart?? I followed everyones advice and made a skid plate but had less than an inch gap and that`s where the branch got through.Throughly peeved at Kubota for not addresing this issue the 09s do have a plate on them but it is totally uselesss as for protection.
Too bad too have such an amzing tractor with this sour issue.Like putting cardboard on a porsche.

I feel your pain as I have had to have mine replaced also. But I didn't take on the task myself since I don't have a hoist or anything of the like let alone have the time to take the task on.

I don't think that it's changed much from the 24...I spoke with the tech that did the replacement following Kubota's instructions. They basically had to take the entire front side out to get to the engine and then slid the engine forward about 2 inches and that was enough for the shaft to clear and get after the fan. But they did add that the front end (fenders and all) HAD to come out...So it sounds like you're almost there already.

Oh, if you have KTAC insurance through financing your tractor, they cover that...still have to pay the $250 deductible

There have been posts here saying some has acutally cut the new fan in half and glued and bolted it back to together. Most of the TBN'ers took the floor pan off to gain access in the rear to remove the fan. ( I havent done it yet-knocking on wood) .Do a search here and it will tell you how some did theirs.

I have the floor pan off and am now stuck because I can`t get the rear floor pan off.Considering just cuttiing a hole in the rear floor pan to gain access.
I practically have the whole tractor disaaembled man what a job.Thanks god for a garage just hope I can get her all back together in one piece.LOL

Did you remove the ROPS and the fenders? The floor pan is held in rear by fenders what it looks like. I suggest heading over to messicks to the parts diagram and take a gander look. It shows a exploded view of some of parts off so its easier to figure out how things work. Kubota BX25 Parts Diagrams

Click hood/bonnet then fender. This should help.

Hey, thks a Ton RadioMan that link rally helped alot.Had some help today and finally got the old fan off.When the new fan comes in I`m going to post some pics and some tips that I have learned.Like getting someone to rotate the drive motor so the bolt holding the fan shaft in place is between the fins to gain access with the wrench.I still couldn`t get the rear pan off.On my bx 25 by just removing the floor board alone doesn`t help at all and forget about removing the rear pan.Someone said 6 hrs on there bx24 I`d say plan for a weekend on the bx25 although I`m just a weekend wrench turner.LOL.
