I always like working with the manufacturer of the tractor for the loader unless they are not available. The reason is fit and capacity of the loader.
That being said, what do I look for in an after market loader!
I look for one with comparable capacity and reach.
Who would know more about the tractor then the people who designed and built it. Higher capacities will mean more load on the front axle as well as extended reach possibly causing failure!
After market loader companies will try and make one frame work for as many tractors as they can with simple small bracket changes. On one model it might even give you far less then the factory loader, the same loader on another make and model will give you far more!!!
I also look at mounting!
I've had to in years gone by and from time we still see it where the loader mounting holes are slotted or you have to grind them out more to make the bolts fit in them fit.
When the loader has been mounted and you've had a chance to use it, it is a good idea to recheck the bolt torques again on the subframe. Good quality loader frames have good holes not needing a die grinder or a drill to help get the bolts into the holes. Now just think if those holes are slotted to begin with! How often should you recheck, just about after every hard use!!!! |
