Default L3540 and 40 sheets of OSB (1880 lbs)

I was again impressed with my 3540 and LA724 loader today when I ordered 40 sheets of 4' x 8' OSB for sheeting my garage. Not really sitting down to calculate what that might weight I assumed it to be in the 1000 lb range. This morning the truck showed up with the stack banded together. The top of the flatbed truck was at least 5' as I approached it with my pallet forks. The stack was larger than I imagined but got under it with my 36" forks and pulled back on the controls...nothing. Throttled up and got it to lift - backed up slowly and when the driver gave me the thumbs up I lowered very carefully as I knew I was pushing it. Lifted it again and set it in my garage. When I found out that each sheet weighs 47 lbs that works out to 1880 lbs for 40 sheets - at a center of mass 24" out + approx. 300 lbs for my forks. Impressive!

I also have the 3540/724 and it is an impressive loader. I load 1600 # pallets of fertilizer into my trucks every other day. I use 36" bradco qa forks, low gear in low range, a 1000# weight box out back & i throttle up to 2500 rpm. No problems with this load what so ever!
