Kubota BX Turf tires

According to Kubota site,
the front tires on BX are 18x8.5-10
the rear tires are 26x12-12

What is the third number with the dash, I'm guessing it's not ply.

I'm looking for turfs to replace my always flat R4s.

I've been able to find the rears in the right size,
but the fronts are 18x8.5-8

What's the difference of the -8 and -10?

Thats a big one. Thats the rim size, or diamteter. Have to match verbatim.

the first number is the approximate height, the second number is the width, and the third number is the rim size.

Just to clarify a little more, it's the rim diameter (not to be confused with width).

Always flat R-4's sounds more like a wheel problem than a tire problem since R-4's are generally considered tougher tires than turfs are.

Yeah, the R4s have a thicker/tougher sidewall, as I recall. Unless you really need the turfs, a gallon of Slime will do all four tires in no time...cheap, easy and permanent. Slime is great stuff, it's worked miracles for many here (myself included). You can find it at TSC (Tractor Supply), Auto Zone and, I'm sure, lots of other places (WalMart?)

In thinking about it, it makes sense that the new narrow profile tires, especially the R-4's must have very rigid sidewalls, and therefore demand near perfect rims. Flat front tires have always been an issue with the BX series, but I expect that it is more of a problem with the new profile, and tire options. Might be just a blob of paint on the rims, etc., and it might pay to get the dealer to break them down, and clean them up.

I'm not positive, but I think the different rim sizes come with different profile tires aka, the 8" rims have a tire with a taller profile so the running diameter of the tire / wheel remains the same.
