I have a BX 2660 with a 60'' MMM, self-balancing/suspended, my question concerns the proper adjustment for the anti-scalp wheels, my MMM was set at 3'', my anti-scalp wheels were set in the proper holes according to the manual, but when I lowered the deck all of the wheels were in contact with the ground, I have raised the wheels quite a bit higher, now when parked on level concrete and the deck lowered the wheels are about 1/2'' from the concrete, it has always mowed very well even with the wheels on the ground, shouldn't the deck be floating/suspended and the wheels making ground contact when mowing over uneven ground??

Yes, the deck should be "suspended". I have found the indicator on the knob to be pretty unreliable and put my wheels in the "proper" position so you have a little clearance. about 1/4" to 1/2", would have to check my manual to be sure. I do pretty much the same thing with my John Deere 2305.

Bottom line, adjust to cut the height you want and move the sticker or remember what the setting is. This is what works for me, but someone may have a different take.

I also mow in position 3 (sometimes 3.1). For both, it calls for the anti-scalp wheels to be in position 3 (from the top). On a level surface, they barely touch. The way I look at it, It cuts great in that setting. If it wear them out a little faster (the wheels), oh well.

We purchased our B2410 used with the 54" MMM. Much to my shock (and awe) the MMM and links were adjusted completely wrong. As best that I could tell, the MMM was not "set up" by the selling dealer at all, just slipped into place for delivery :(

I got out the books, for the tractor and mower, grabbed a pitcher of cold water and went to work following every adjustement A thru Z.

My wheels (corners) ride on the lawn unless there is a dip then the links hold up the deck. The anti-scalping wheels are just off the ground while mowing but the main wheels are ON the ground.

YMMV

I usually set my cut height with the knob and then set the wheel height to where I can just pass the tip of my finger under it while the tractor is sitting in the grass and the deck lowered to the cutting height. I did this on concrete once and I found the wheel hit the ground more so doing it on grass gets it about right.

I should add to my above comments that the cutting height is set (per the OM) on our deck with the "gauge wheels" - the front outer and rear center wheels. Then you set the 3pt height lever accordingly, so the tractor will hold the deck from dropping into a rut or dip but the gauge wheels actually set the cutting height as they are in contact with the ground during normal use.
