Hello,
I have a BX 25 with 135 hrs on the meter. Today for the first time I removed the BH and installed a new 3pt hitch and Box Blade. After about 20 minutes of use it started making a squealing sound when ever any hydraulic function reached it stop. I first noticed it when the 3pt hitch went to max hight and I though it was just confined to this area of the tractor but it does it when the FEL reaches its stop as well in any direction.
I know all BX's make a noise when the HST reaches its pressure limit and switches to bypass relief but this is much louder and its a new noise to my tracter.
After some time troubleshooting and finding nothing I decided to re-attach the BH and do some work to see if the sound is still there.......guess what, its now gone. So I removed the BH and connected the hose back to complete the hydraulic loop as per the manual and the sound is back again. This time I expermented with rpm and the sound definitly gets louder with increased rpm.
Is there a different circuit used in the HST when the BH is removed, I dont think so but just grasping for ideas here. Did some reading on here but found only one other person with this problem but the thread did not go on long enough to explain if the problem was solved.
Could it be that somehow the female QC has a problem mating to the male QC on the tractor where the BH QC usully connects. Hard to explain but bacically there is one connection you have (with BH off) to make to complete the circuit, that is the one I am refering to. That is the only thing I can think of. All the same connections on the BX are used with the BH off, just in different places.
I called the dealer and he seemed to think it was the relief valve but that was before I re-installed the BH again, and as mentioned above the sound is not there with the BH on, and I run at 2800rpm when using. So I think it is definitly not the relief valve, but I am not a mechanic.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
