crappy switches on bx 2200

light sw dont work..does all kinds iof crazy crap..parked inside machine too..gets washed but dont sit outside..now i got no headlight s and i could use em come winter ******

where to git a cheap or used one anyone??

seems like its all one assmebly but i havent checked yet..none of the 3 work right..flashers/lights/turns...only need headlights

Have you checked the fuse harness? Remove the sceen below the dash, pull out the fuses 1 at a time, and look to see whether the metal in the center has melted.

Mine don't work either. After they get wet sometimes they will turn themselves on. Finally just unplugged them all.

The dealer says that there is an updated set of switches that work much better and do not short out.

You can check to see if it is the switch by running a jumper from the power pin to the light pin. Don't mistake the light pin for the ground wire.

theyll work if ya mess with the sw off/on 20-30 times..they do wierd stuff.. i know the sw are bad but its a shame i gotta try to buy new..its crap...for what they cost they oughtta have decent power sw on em..

If you wash these with any high pressure near the switches you will temorarily short them out...Shouldn't happen, but it does. If you unplug them and let them air dry for a day or so, they're usually fine. Misted water doesn't seem to have the same impact.

They really should be waterproof though.

Before replacing the switches try hosing them down with WD-40 on both the bottom and top and then blow the WD-40 around, deeper, and out with an air compressor (assuming you have both).

This method usually works until the next round of water shorts them out.

The updated switch is a better design, they last longer and don't collect water. They're standard now on the new RTV's I believe. They are larger and may take a little work to fit the dashes of older BX tractors. Just a little inside info...

yep. Same problem with mine. I left it outside for a few weeks and now the lights have a mind of their own.

I believe I saw some that look similar lately. In the Surplus Center catalog, there some inexpensive rocker switches. A search of "waterproof rocker switch" turns up many inexpensive rocker switches, many for boat service. I would look at those with comparing the price of Kubota replacements.

i was hopin to not cobble it..i never press wash it either..just hose it off.rain s on it someimnes if i git caught out in it but mostly its in the barn..just poor parts is all..im gonna try the wd 40 trick but i have my doubts..you d think for the price theyd have better elec components
