I'm looking at options to replace my BX24 with a machine next stage up.

The backhoe is fine on the BX and given the option, could I use / transfer the BH on B2620 or even a B3200?

I'd rather that then buy a new BH for a new machine (lots of coin). As stated, I'm just looking at options... :anyone:

I don't think it will work unless you are good at fabrication. Also, the BX24 won't be worth much to anybody because it's expected to have the backhoe.

Not to sound unkind but they all interchange, that is what adapter plates are made for. That is part of the hobby laying on the floor trying to figure out how to move a mounting point. I commitied a large offence I mounted a JD as a subframe under a Kubota.
Adapter plates are very easy to make, generally 1/2 " plate steel 6"x 8".

You don't sound unkind at all, just completely wrong.

The backhoe would definitely work on a 2620.... or even a 3200. Problem is, you'll never find a subframe to attach it to the tractor. That means fabbing one yourself, or paying someone to do it. Paying someone to fab up a subframe would likely eliminate alot of savings by keeping your current backhoe instead of buying the appropriate one for your new tractor.

IMO, You would spend just as much trying to adapt the BX24 hoe to the larger tractor than just getting a new hoe. The B3200 is a lot more machine and the hoe on the B3300SU is way larger than the BX24 hoe. If you did adapt the BX hoe to the larger machine, you may not be totally pleased with its performance in many ways. These larger machines are designed to take the larger implements, not the BX ones. There are a lot of differences between the BX and B series tractors. With the added ground clearance of the B2620 your hoe stabilizers will not reach as low as on the BX and you will loose digging depth as well. Also, since these machines have greater hydraulic pump power the hoe will potentially have a "jerky" operation due to higher pressures. Just a few things to keep in mind.

Well, that answers that question... I guess I'll be buying a new backhoe. I can fabricate, but I'm better in wood then steel. Thanks for the info guys...all valid points to say the least.:thumbsup:

Perhaps you could make a wooden backhoe subframe??

Prolly be the first one anyone here made. ;)

What others have said is correct. You'd have to make your own custom subframe, which would be expensive unless you can fab it yourself. A buyer would expect the bh to come with the BX24, and he couldn't get one to match it in any other way. The bh is not a good match for the bigger tractors as they have the capacity to power a much bigger unit, and the point about the stabilizers not reaching the ground is spot on. The same elevated height would lessen the depth the boom would reach as well.

Not to sound unkind to Craig, but they do not interchange-there are no "adapter plates".

As per my statement about adapter plates let me clarifer my thoughts. When I purchased my JD BH 6 ft 6" to bottom of trench it had a subframe to slide onto a JD.As I had to transport it home 30 miles on a utility trailer I had to disassemlble it in the dealers yard. As it was then fully paid for I could do as I wished. I took the legs off, and the subframe I removed completely. That left the basic ARPS backhoe. When you get to that stage the actual frame could have had a 3PTH , or Skidsteer type adapter mount ed to it by the way it was built. I had it liftedon the trailer and off I went home. I then took it all apart and cleaned and flushed everything. The adapter plates that fit JD came off with a grinder and were moved back to fit the adapter that I hung under the kubota. I made a 1"x2" solid support off the back of the Kubota to support the subframe the same way that dumptruck axles are bolted on.
Now I have 8ft wet lines off the unit that I plug to the Kubota and back over the subframe and make the BH lift from the bottom and in goes the pins.
I have the basic fab shop and I am an electrician by trade. I found it fun to do. I am designing in my head to make the BH on a tracked crawler. Right now I am building my gate project.
