    Default Kubota L3600 Steering Problems

Need some advice on a steering cylinder problem I was using the L3600 to fill in where a log skidder had pulled logs from the woods and making a road way again. The cap end to the steering cylinder seperated from the body and dumped the oil pulled the tractor into the shop with 2nd tractor and removed everything down to the cylinder and removed could see no damage so pressed the cap onto the body reinstalled the retainer ring and put everything back together,no leaks only now when turning the steering to the right the steering rod goes into the cap so this would pop the cap loose centering the wheels appears equal turning to left and to the right so pitman must be right and the toe in seems close to correct as far as know never worked on before. any suggestion what to look for ? Nothing apears bent. se'ya ken

Are you saying the end cap goes into the cylinder when turning right?
If there is a snap ring to keep the end cap from coming out of the cylinder, there should also be a jam screw to keep it from going into the cylinder.

Thanks for the answer replyed by E-Mail before thinking that it wouldn't show on the forum. My parts list doesn't show a larger nut or washer to keep this cylinder rod from entering the body but this could be lost when came loose will look for more tomorrow evening. Thanks again ken

Just a note to let you know the steering problem is fixed. You were correct that the turn is to the left instead of right to make the steering rod go into the cylinder housing, after putting it back together and looking at the problem it still wanted to go into the housing app.1/8th of and inch enough to catch the retainer ring Used a piece of tool steel to bolt to the frame and stop the pitman rod from traveling past the point where the steering rod would enter the housing. drove 40 miles to talk with kubota repairman but they were closed on Mondays then needed the tractor and so used this method until can get answers. so far at least 8 hours and no trouble.
Thanks for your interest maybe can help you sometime se'ya ken
