i am an exp. kubota mechanic that actually rebuilds the engines in some rare cases when one wears out and/or breaks, this is how i handle a new start up or rebuild 1 start engine at low rpm 2 let temp start to come up (aluminum and steel and cast iron all expand at different rates) 3 bring rpm up to 1000 ( i should mention that i'm hooked to a dyno, but if you have a bush hog you can hook to that for some load) when 4 when temp is normal i push it wide open , and on the dyno with the read out you can actually see the engine start to make more horspower , run in time is from 30min to 2 hours with around a 20% load. that is how i do it and so far no come backs for any internal problems.....
