Tractor
Kubota L3200
First thanks to everyone for the great posts on these forums. I have been lurking for some time now gathering information to upgrade to a new tractor. Much valuable information has been gained and was invaluable in my decision making.

I had a Kubota L2900 with FEL, 5' mower and 5' BB for 13 years now, used on 180 acres in Alabama. I do a lot of mowing with a 5' Husky ZT and the tractor. I was using the ZT much more than the tractor and wanted a bigger mower on tractor to reverse that trend. I traded in the L2900 and implements on a Kubota MX 5100 HST 4WD with FEL and LP RCR1872 (6' mower), LP RCR2510 (10' mower), 7' BB, quick attach bucket & pallet forks.

I really like the HST although I am still pushing in the clutch when I don't have to, 13 years of habit hard to break :) The parking break is horrible as others have said. The additional HP and 10' mower cuts a lot of grass in much less time than I was spending. Very happy with my upgrade.

I enjoy seeing pictures in posts as I'm sure most do. So here are lots of pictures of my new tractor and 7yr old Corgi.

Hi, I just purchased a new MX5100 moving up from the L2900 as well. I have a hilly 41 acres where I live and the 2900 4WD was a great little tractor for 14 years. I sold it prior to purchasing the 5100 and really hated to part with it. Other than it is noisy the 5100 is a great machine so far. I went with the HST this time as I do a lot of loader work cleaning out ponds. And, to-date it has been nothing short of spectacular. I am debating now about a tooth bar or the ratchet rake from TSC for clearing brush and such. I miss the amenities on the 2900, but for working in muck the matless deck is actually better. Also, the R4 tires have been a pleasant surprise for traction. I look forward to years of faithful service with the 5100.

Thanks to all for welcomes. I have had new MX5100 for 2 wks now and have logged 21 hrs of seat time. I have finally broken the habit of pushing in the clutch every time I want to stop :). Stan, I live in Texas but we spend about half our time in Alabama where the tractor is. I have now used all the implements and the MX has not disappointed me. It has taken all I have thrown at it. Chainsawed down four large trees at our family cemetery and cut up just enough to carry down road. Trunks on pallet forks topped with as many branches as would stay on (some didn't) and MX had no problem lifting load over gate/fence to go down road. MX pulled 7' BB down rock/dirt cemetery road like it wasn't even back there making short work of maintaining road. I have some clamp on tines on the way and a Rylee root rake that I am looking forward to seeing what it will do getting up various size stumps.

Beautiful tractor, you might want to consider putting on some bedliner coating on your floorboards, I have really enjoyed mine on my L3400HST. I have really enjoyed the extra traction and wear resistance. Pix on post 21

Are you talking about the stuff they spray on? I had the bed of my truck sprayed (2006 Chevy) and it still looks great, however, it was fairly pricey and I had to drive 30+ miles to the closest dealer. They grind the heck out of the bed prior to spraying it, but it's tough stuff. Is there an available product similar to this for the do-it-yourselfer? I love this new tractor so far, but when you add power (More than 2000 rpms) it is really noisy, I have taken to using ear plugs!). If what you are talking about is similar to what I have in my truck it will also improve traction on the step and deck.

Thanks
