Kubota M7040 cab/hyd shuttle - current, Kubota L3400 - traded
I warmed up my M7040 for the requisite amount of time. It has been cold here - about -12 degrees C.

I tried unsuccessfully to pull the lever to engage 4WD. The lever just did not move.

After about 20 min of driving I was eventually able to pull the lever with a fair amount of force. Except .... the 4WD dash light does not come on. So I don't know whether it engaged or not.

Just wondering if anyone else has had any trouble with the lever or the dash light.

I was planning to do my 50 hr service myself but I might send it to the dealer so that he can look into this.

Assuming you already know his, but try driving in an S pattern while manipulating lever to/from 2wd/4wd.

Did not know that. If it says this in the manual I will go smack my head against the cab as I try it.

Short S curves, moving the steering wheel left and right while driving and pulling up or pushing down on the lever.
