Default Alternator Battery Lug Thread Size ?

Hi.

I'm in the middle of a ALternator Upgrade on my B2150.

The Kubota (Denso) alternator has a copper battery lug on the back of it.

I am supposed to connect the ring terminal at the end of my wiring harness to it.

But.. there was no nut on the alternator and no nut was included in the "upgrade" kit.

I have seen them on Alternator and they seem to be copper, but not always.

Does anyone have a clue what the thread size is on that lug so I can go searching for an appropriate sized nut to use ?

I assume since it's Japanese, it's a metric size.

If I had to guess... I'd say 10mm. But does anyone know for sure ?

Thanks, Tim

Tim, I just checked the 40 amp OE alternator on my BX2660. The nut that is under the rubber boot is 10 mm....can't say as to the thread specs other that it would be metric. The bolt that comes out of the back (under the boot) is copper looking, but the nut looks like it is stainless steel. Hope this helps. Mike

If a 10 mm wrench fits the nut,the thread size is M6 x 1.0,by far the most common size 6mm thread.Carry on!

Oldballs & number2,

Thanks for that info. 10mm M6 x1.0

I'll try to find the copper, but if not, SS will be the next choice.

Thanks again.

Regards, Tim
