I built a dolly for my BH65 backhoe over the weekend and thought I would share the info and design with others since I used another members post to build it. Basically I copied this post: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/130291-bh65-dolly.html with a few minor mods. I built a beam using 3 2x4's on end that was 40" long. I then built a small platform for the bucket that was made with 2, 2x4's side by side and 16" long. I connected the beam and platform with 2, 2x4's side by side and 48" long. I screwed it all together so that the entire rig was 48" long with a big beam on one end and a platform on the other end. I then put Caster wheels from home depot in all 4 corners. I elected to use 4" rubber wheels with a ~250 lb load rating. I went with rubber wheels rather than hard plastic so that it would roll on my not always clean garage floor. I bolted the wheels onto the bucket platform and used lag screws to attach them to the beam. The rig is very solid and it actually is at the perfect height for my 2920 and lines the BH up perfectly so I don't even need to use the stabilizers to remove it.

Thanks. Got a PM from another members asking me how I liked my 16" bucket... and didn't even realize I had a 16" bucket! I thought I had a 12, which is what the tractor was listed with when i bought it... just never thought to measure it. With that in mind I think if I built another of these dolly's I'd extend the bucket platform 4" wider than the bucket (I built it for a 12") so that there's plenty of contact area when you put the weight on it to lift the BH onto the tractor.

So when you put the BH back on, You drop the out riggers to raise and lower the lower frame into the carrier, then push it forward with the dipper and bucket to get the top pins in.....Will that dolly be able to take the force of the BH pushing on it with out turning into toothpicks?

It turns out that the height of the dolly means that the BH lines up with the tractor just above the slots for the pins, so I don't need to use the stabilizers to lift it at all. I just curl the bucket out and it puts the pins in their slots and raises it up. The bucket platform takes a lot of stress during that maneuver and it lifts the part of the dolly with the bigger Beam when I do this, but it seems to handle the weight without any issues. I probably wouldn't go lifting the rear of the tractor completely off the ground with the bucket on the dolly, but you don't need to do that to attach it. We'll see how it holds up over time, but so far after trying it a few times it doesn't seem any worse for wear.

Very nice!

Thanks. Btw it is still holding up after a few months and more than a dozen times putting the bh on and off, so it seems up for the forces involved.

Nice job. I know this is an old thread but I'm getting a BH65 for my B2620 and will want a dolly for it. Thanks for posting.

How does my BH-77 compare size wise to your BH-65? I want to make a dolly for mine too
