Anyone that owns a 2011 M7040 HDC could you please post the Operators Manual number? I bought this tractor used with 142 hrs showing and it came without an OM. I contacted a dealer and the parts person couldn't determine the correct manual. I need to know the correct change intervals for the engine oil and correct viscosity. Thanks,Jim

From the manual 7040 I am now looking at, the first oil change is at 50 hours, along with hyd oil, hyd filter and front axle and hub oil. Clean fuel separator.
Next oil change at 300 hours, then 600 and continuing 300 hour intervals.
Oil is CD, CE, or CF. Viscosity is 10W30 or 15W40. 30HD for some situations.

I think 300 hours is too long unless you put them on in a hurry.
Went with 15W40 for my neighbor's 7040DC and going to synthetic on next change. 100 hour intervals on dino oil, more on synthetic,
Buy an owner's manual--lots of good stuff in there.

owner's manual # is 3C757-9971-1
Is just for a 7040 and doesn't seem to have a separate one for the HDC

Thanks for the reply. I will order an OM.I've owned a JD 4255 since '93. I've changed the oil according to the OM at 250 hrs(200 hrs plus the extra 50 hrs using JD plus 50 oil). The 4255 now has 10,500 hrs on the tach and the engine hasn't been touched. You can change your oil at 100 hrs if you chose but not me. If Kubota thinks 300 hrs is OK then 300 hr oil change is what mine will get.

Tx Jim, I am with you, personally thought 50 hrs was too quick to change all that is recommended, but I did it according to manual. Now I will follow the manual and do as they recommend, they should know, they built the machine.
