Tractor
IH 2400A backhoe..,NH L865 skid steer, IH 185 LoBoy, Kubota L2250 WalMart Murray 20 hp rider, my workhorse
L2250 was running strong and great, while moving in a pasture ran over a stump causing tractor to stall.
Would not crank..no instrument lights with ignition switch on. Jumped battery with portable pack and
still everything seems dead. Jumped the starter with clutch pedal down and ignition on, still dead.
Other than the clutch pedal, not aware of any interlocks. In a bind, loader bucket is down, can't tow it
back or get a flat bed down to it. Would appreciate thoughts on recovery.

Confirm seat safety switch engage to start tractor.

Test seat and clutch switch with a voltmeter if you have too, same for starter once ignition is turned on.

Last resort, crack the two (for raising and lowering) hydraulic lines for loader so that when the "lowbed" wrecker or tow truck winch you in, you can place a 2x4 piece of wood under the loader to glide onto the truck bed. I've done that before. Make sure to bleed air out of the system once up and running again.

If it just died and will not crank I would first suspect a connection somewhere. Perhaps you have bounced the battery out of the holder and damaged a terminal or shorted the positive lead?

Do you have 12V on the main positive wire to the starter with the ground on the tractor motor block?

If this L22250 is a gear trans just run chain under bucket and hook to tractor frame. Then as chain is tightened operate boom hyd lever and bucket will raise up for towing. How many volts does battery show??

Get yourself a test light or volt meter and start switch, also a jumper wire. Start at battery check for 12 volts, then at starter. If 12 volts at starter hook the start switch to the + from battery and the small wire at the sol. shold turn over. If it does run your jumper wire to the fuel shutoff and it should start and run. If no volts at starter check ground cable and battery.

Bet it's a battery cable, not making contact.

Many thanks for the input. Huricane has hampered me, under a mandatory evacuation in 4 hours. Spent the day securing livestock. Did get a quick once over the Kubota, no multimeter, but PTO lever in neutral, surprised that seat does not appear to have a safety switch, couldn't follow the clucth pedal linkage to the interlock button. Feel better hearing that the hydraulics can be disabled to allow towing. Appreciate the responses.

Put hyds in float, shifter in N then pull it backwards. Your safety switchs doen't have anything to do with no power to dash. They only stop the 12v from turning the starter over, in other words no 12v to the small wire at the sol. Unplug that wire and jump 12v to it and you should hear the sol. click, but not turn the starter unless the battery + and - are hooked up. If they are hooked and there is 12v+ there it well turn the engine over. Now if it turns over just unplug the fuel sol and run a 12v jumper from battery to it. Should start now. If jumping the start sol and it just clicks check for 12v at both big lugs at starter. If 12v are at both then the starter is bad and if at the one coming from the battery it's the sol.
