    Default BX24 Battery

    I need to replace my BX24 battery. Does anybody know what generic battery will replace / fit the BX24 tractor?

    If you measure it you can use this chart to match one up.

    The more CCA's you can get the better off you will be.

    On my 2004 BX2200 standard "24DC" Marine Deep Cycle battery fits in rack perfectly and has the correct post configuration. I assume Kubota has maintianed similar standard in newer BX. Costco (Kirkland) has best $ deal and best CCA in class at 700. Does manual show the spec?

    Nope, my neighbor has a BX2200 and his battery compartment is much more forgiving on the size requirements. I'm not sure when they changed it but my BX2350 (assume the same for the BX24) has a very restrictive battery compartment and you can't barely go much bigger than the factory size which is a shame.

    I just replaced mine w/ a group 26R battery from the auto parts store. Only difference was the + and - terminals were flip flopped but I was still able to make the connections.

    BX2200 battery compartment;

    BX24 (same as BX2350) battery compartment;

    Hmmm, I would have thought that a deep-cycle battery was the opposite of what's required for the high-current, short-duration load to start a diesel engine.

    I presume it's working OK. Did you choose it for the size only, or am i off base here? (again...)

    [edit] Just checked my BX-24. A 24DC battery is much larger than the battery in my tractor. Wouldn't fit.

    My battery is 8"L, 6.5"W, and 7"H.

    Thanks,
    Z.

    I replaced the battery in my BX24 last week. I went to Costco and the closest one was about 1" longer and 1" taller. The width was about the same. It fits into the space and works just fine.

    Use the numbers/letters on the current battery to cross-reference. Also, you may want to check the local battery shops in you're area (not stores like pep boys) most give competitive prices and money off for turning in the old battery.

    Really? I had to get a new battery for my Expedition this fall and (O'Reilly auto) charged me $5 or $7 for a disposal fee. Crap!

    Got to Tractor Supply, if you have one! Good batteries and cost is around $80. My BX22 takes a COM-26. Heres a link to the page, Exide Heavy-Duty Farm Battery, COM-26 - 2151158 | Tractor Supply Company measure yours and see if it the same size! TS does not charge a fee either, just a core that you get back when you give them the old battery.
    Hope this helps you out.
