Kubota L3200
I have seen read all the previous post on this but still have some questions. I am in the process of purchasing a B3200. When I checked it out on the lot with it parked it had a pronounced vibration at about 1900 RPM and could feel some high frequency vibration 2000rpm and above. Not too sure if it will be an issue for me or not until I get it home and start working with it. But would prefer to have vibration out before I take it off the dealer lot. Anyone know how to decode a Kubota serial #? This is selling as a 2012 but I have a feeling it has sat on the lot for awhile. Not sure if this machine has the fix or not. Anyone know what machine serial # has the Kubota fix for the vibration? What does the Kubota fix look like? Did it cure the issue for you?

Have seen the posts about retarding the fuel injection timing to the B7800 specs of 12 -14deg BTDC (B3200 = 16-18 BTDC). Has anyone done this and did it cure the vibration? Did anyone have vibration issues on the B7800?

I know its a lot of questions, but this makes me nervous buying a new machine and potentially having to make mods?

Thanks,
Ryan

I am sure it would have the mod done to it although I got the mod from Kubota for mine and it had it already and mine is an '09. If you don't need the mid pto you might want to try the B3300 or maybe the new B3000.

Hello Ryan,

About your B3200 be very sure you have them ****** the timing back to the original specs in
the kubota rebuild manual for this specific engine.

The Kubota fixes are after market fixes and only dampen the vibration for a short while if that.

Now, if you accept the machine as is at home they will have no incentive to fix it period.

The timing has to be retarded back to the normal specs for the engine WHEN IT LEFT JAPAN.

The engine and transmission and frame were assembled here and the engine was readjusted

here to meet the EPA exhaust emmissions at the tail pipe.

A quick way to tell if it was changed back to the original specs is put a heavy coffee mug full of coffee
on an idling B3200 with the brake set. If it was reset/retarded back to the original specs there will be
barely a ripple in the coffee when the engine is warmed up.

Sitting in the seat and running the throttle to high idle will also tell you whether it was changed retarded back to the original spec.

Can someone post the fuel injection timing spec from the Kubota rebuild manual? Has anyone successfully retarded the timing and solved the issue on the B3200?

What is the official Kubota fix for this issue? Does anyone have it installed and what does it do for the vibration? Is there a service bulletin on this? I have seen posts referring to thicker rubber deck mat, iso mounts under platform, adding steel to platform, and retarding fuel injection timing. But not sure which was Kubotas final recommendation.

The timing is retarded for the emissions. It needs to be advanced.

Subscribed. This (potential?) issue continues to fascinate, as I suspect that vibration would bother me, as well.

If I spent any time over 2000rpm I think I would be looking at a different model. If I was to do it again I would look at a smaller L series. The 03 engines are just plain smoother and the L's are more durable but the physical size is not much bigger.

Anybody know approx the list price difference between the B3200 and the L3200 Hydro with FEL?

Looks like the L3200 does not have some of the frills that B3200 has. Such as the integrated FEL control, rubber platform mat, and MID PTO. While the L3200 is more of a workhorse, with extra weight and more FEL lift. I am hoping that I can get the L3200 for the price I negotiated on the B3200 or hopefully even less. Thanks to everyone on this board. You have really helped me decide on what tractor will best suit my needs. I have found out that buying your 1st tractor is not easy, so many factors to consider. And way too many decisions on the market! Which can be good, but in my case just keeps my mind churning.

The real benefit of the B is the integrated loader control, depends on your tastes. As for the rubber floor mat, well it is a joke. I am looking at redoing mine already (100hrs). For about 20$ you can put on a rubber mat that will last better than the factory one. Good luck one your decision. Remember nothing is final, you can always trade.

Does anybody know if changing the timing affects the HP output?

When I bought my B3200 earlier this year I went back and forth on whether to get the B3200 - or the 3300. Looking at the specs - the 3300 has just a little bit more lift on the 3pt, HP - etc. My biggest question was - Why?

If I remember correctly - the engines in both are pretty much the same. Is the B3300SU engine tuned differently? Does the B3300SU come without it's timing botched to meet the US emission regs?

Is there something that allows a tractor without mid-PTO to be classified as a "farm" vehicle (and not meet the regs) - vs a tractor with the mid-PTO that is a "civilian" tractor and must meet the regs or something like that?
