It's been an ongoing project at a pasture down the road from my house. The place is ~100 acres and has been neglected for years. The Chinese Tallow trees and yaupon have just about taken over, what was once I really nice looking pasture. It's my goal to bring back the pasture to what it once was.

Equipment I am running
2012 M7040 with a Rhino Magnum 15' mower
2009 M5040 with a Rhino Magnum 15' mower

Snapped a photo while on lunch break.

I originally purchased one running Rhino mower, and the second mower was bought as a parts mower for $750.00. After looking over the parts mower, I figured out that all it needed was a new ujoint on the CV driveline, and a couple of welds near the wing cylinder. A couple evenings and a $150.00 and I was up and running with two mowers.

I started working on the place Friday afternoon, and then again Saturday and Sunday. Ended up mowing 60 acres, in 39 hours between the two machines. Much of the mowing was done in L1 @ 1.25 mph.

Hope you enjoy the pics.

A good reason to run foam filled tires. This one threw the cap early in the day. I just ran it until the end of the day, then pulled it. No downtime at all.

OK, now what are you going to do with the trees? Backhoe?

Wow! It would take me forever to make that kind of progress. Looks great.

Haven't decided what to do with the trees. I thought about hauling out a couple of excavators with thumbs. But then the problem comes with the cleanup. I can't burn them at this place, and I don't have a grinder. The trees are junk, and won't make decent firewood. Might be worth me having a hydroax come after the trees...

Any thoughts?

Where's the rocks and stumps?

My land has old oak stumps and 11teen-gagillion rocks from softball to house sized! No way I can clear like that! Good job of it.

I feel for you on the popcorn trees. I hate yaupons too! They are tough to get rid of.
