There are flush mount valve stems designed to solve such problems...here are two links

four-wheelers have faced this problem and have similar solutions.

Before anyone does any welding on a rim with a tire mounted on it, they should Google "welding on tire rims". Even breaking the bead does not necessarily prevent pyrolysis from happening and people have been killed by welding on rims where the bead was broken. The pressure build up happens so fast it's just like lighting an aerosol to seat a tire bead.

I use the Gorilla flush mount stems on my tractor for over a year. They have worked well for me.
