Used M6800DT - how many hours are "too many"?
I'm looking at a used 4WD M6800DT with a Woods FEL. It has 3,300 hours on it. Dealership is asking $15,500. Although its a little more tractor than I need (for clearing land) I like the tractor, but I'm a little worried about the number of hours. It was a local tractor that the dealership serviced.
I'd like some input and guidance since I haven't messed with tractors in a long time. Is this too many hours? What should I be sure to check for? Any help would be appreciated!

I liked the cable show, Swamp Loggers. The dad and owner of the company on that show said, "Diesels are good for 10,000 hours." If that tractor was routinely serviced by the dealer, I would go for it. You could always buy something new and get a lemon.

With good maintenance that is indeed a 10,000hr tractor. If it's in overall good condition and was well cared for I wouldn't be scared of it. With that many hours and a loader it might be time for a new clutch, however.
