What is the recommended operating RPM for a B7610?

Let me clarify.

My friend just bought a 2004 B7610. He used a disc farrow for his yard and ran the tractor at 1000 RPM. I said that was way too low. He wants to know what RPM is best suited.

Thanks.

My answer is what ever RPM you need to go the speed that you want to go. 1000 does sound a little low I would try to keep at least 1200. But there is no need to running 2300 or higher if you don't need the power or speed.

I have a 7610. I generally run it at 1500 for most of my work. When pulling the land plane with a full load I'll bump it up to 2000. The highest I really run it is 2100-2200 when blowing snow that is wet & heavy.

I find running the throttle is not so much a specific number, but what you feel is enough power with out bogging down.

For me on my B7610, I find that I more or less listen the the hydro sound and when it sounds like it is straining or not at the right pitch, I up the RPM. For most work or just traveling, maybe around 1500. For bucket work in 4wd maybe 2000, bush hog at 2300, blade or box scraper 2000, and finish mower up around 2300. I NEVER LUG A DIESEL............God bless.......Dennis

TractorData.com only lists a hydro transmission for the B7610. I keep my RPM's up to minimum 1600 and most of the time more to keep the hydro from growling .. but it is noisy anyway. 1000 RPM is way low for a hydro. Speed can be controlled by the pedal.

I have a B2400. I pretty much run it at full throttle all the time. I mainly use it to mow. According to the user's manual the engine needs to be run at a speed to run the PTO at 540 RPM when mowing. That's almost full throttle. I assume the tractor is designed to run at that speed. For start up the engine should be set to run at 2000 RPM. So I'm almost never below 2000 RPM. The only time I'm lower is when I'm letting the tractor warm up.
