I have a KH-61 Kubota 22 HP mini-excavator that seems to be running at a very low RPM with the throttle all the way open. The machine did not come with a tachometer so I can't determine the RPM. However, my L35 and BX2200 are running at a much higher RPM according to my trusty ear. Also, I tested a new KX-61 excavator machine and it was very obvious to my ear that the new machine was running at a higher RPM. I think this may be causing some lack of power? Is there anyone who knows how to adjust the idle of these diesel engines? I would like to increase the RPM just a bit. Any help would be appreciated!

I can't comment on the specific engine. However, there is something called a maximum no-load speed adjustment on my engine, and that is perhaps the problem. My trouble-shooting guide lists some other problems under the heading of 'Low Power or Speed.' The problems are throttle adjustment, fuel starvation, air in system, incorrect timing, low compression and engine timing.

Sorry I can't say how to find these adjustments on your engine.
