I was planning to purchase a used Woods GB60 box scraper (500 lbs) for my Kubota 2660 tractor. Someone told me it was too heavy for my tractor. I'm planning to use it for dirt landscaping, no rock or gravel. Is it too heavy? Thanks.
I have a woods 60 inch box blade for my B2400. IMO it's too big for my tractor. It doesn't take too much dirt to bog down my B2400. If I had a do-over I'd go with a 48" or 54".
The manual for my B2320 says 54" max. width, 375# for the B2320, 500# for the B2620 & B2930. The B2660 may be different, but the info is in the manual.
I agree that if you get a boxblade that is too heavy, you'll just be spinning your wheels. Just set it up at the proper angle for your application, learn to use it and you'll get more accomplished with a lighter blade that is designed for a small tractor.
I recommend a box blade as wide, or just a hair wider than the outside of your rear tires. We make 48" and 54" Compact Tractor Box Blades that will work great with your tractor. They both have 4 ripper shanks so the pull isn't going to be that much more on the larger model. We also designed our 60" Compact Box Blade with 4 shanks for the same reason.
Our box blades will ship free to a business or supporting freight terminal within 1,000 miles of Newton, NC.
Here's the video. We also have quite a few how-to videos on our website that may be helpful.
