modifying 7040 HD SU

went to see my new 7040 yesterday an i was like a kid at christmas looking at his new toy.i checked it over from top to bottom.since i have trouble getting on an off the taller tractors i had to have the modify the step by building an adding another step to it.an also make the step supports a little heavier an stronger.ive got 2 sets of remotes wich will be used.it comes with grill guard.i love that most all the controls are on my right hand side.everything seems tobe with easy reach.the tool box is on my left hand side.im hoping they will get the step done today an deliver it wed.

Hey bigbull, the 7040 is a great tractor. I just bought me one a couple of weeks ago and sure like runnin it. What are you going to use yours for
mostly?

I would love to see your step modification, I have had to start using a step stool to get on and off or park close to something. I can manage without it if necessary as I have handrails on mine, but I would be out of luck on an open station.

I really hink you are going to enjoy the roomier operator platform on the M Series.

im excited an cant wait till it gets here.bass im going to use it for shredding pulling the hay hauler an other chores around the farm.itll also be the cutter an rake tractor when we get a cutter an rake.an itll prolly be the main feeding tractor during the winter.3R ill try to get pics of my step mod as soon as i can.

Thanks, my sons are prety good welders as is my brother, so we might be able to fix ours up.

well i pretty much told the shop how to build the 2nd step for my tractor.hope i get my tractor tomorrow.

By the way, Congratulations bigbull. I know you are going to like the new 7040. You are VERY fortunate to be able to find a '40 series. Most are now the new '60's.
I too would be interested in the design of your step. I have an open station and at times tire of jumping up and down. The time for a small bench or modified step is rapidly approaching for me also.

yes i know im luckey enough to find the 40.ive got 3 dealers within 60 mi of me.an all 3 had 4 or 5 40s on the lot or more.waiting to see if they deliver the tractor today.
