Is it even possible to change an open station m7040 to a cab version? I am not considering it but was wondering if anyone had ever heard of it being done or if it is even possible to do?
Thanks!

Amy thing is possible. But no it's never been done because it would be foolish and a waste of money versus just trading up to a factory cabFactory cabs come as one piece. To convert, you would have to remove all the open station components and basically throw them out or find someone to buy the platform which most likely wouldn't happen. Then you would have some gabbing to do even if its the same model. You would be losing a lot of money and have a lot of headache. Would probably be cheaper and less stressful to just trade the tractor in at that point. The only real option would be to ad an aftermarket cab to the existing open station platform.

You can buy aftermarket cabs but you are still better off to buy a cab tractor for what it cost and the resale value.

Today's cabs include more and more of the tractor's controls - they are really an integral part of the machine instead of being an "attachment" as they once were. The three major add-ons for tractors, cab, loader and backhoe are almost always most economical when fitted from new. I've upgraded to have backhoe and cab - but both times by getting a different machine already fitted with it and selling the one without.
