When I bought the new tractor last year, it did not have the factory rear window defrost. I know it is availabe from the dealer for a price, but the only time it is an issue is when blowing snow and it blows back toward the glass. I get plenty of heat out of the heater, it is just a matter of not enough air flow on the window. Here is My cure. I think it will fix the problem.

Great idea. Half the time, I never use the heat or defrost in my cabbed B3030 due to body heat and the green house effect from the glass.
If you ever bust the rear window, then you can upgrade to the real McCoy defrost.

Up here when you buy a grand l it comes with the rear defog, rear lights... The one thing I've never used on the 4240 or the 5740 was the rear defog. I just leave the AC turned on and the temp up and it works great. I'm sure the fan is a good idea though.

Thanks for the interesting information on the Canadian Grand L 4SHORTS. Mine did not come with the rear defrost, and the rear lights were a "Dealer installed option".
I run the AC also and have it warm enough to be in a short sleeve shirt, but sometimes still have the back window fog up when wind blows the snow back against the window. I usually try to use the wind as an advantage blowing snow but there are times I just can't blow snow with the wind. I'm sure this will cure the issue. The Kubotas have a great heater, but need a little more air flow in the correct places.

Lots of cars had that type of defroster over the years and it worked fine. Your should as well. Good thinking.

found me a small fan that blows hot or cooler air. made a mount and aimed it at the window. does a pretty good job at keeping the fog blowed off.

I run the a/c on mine too. I also readjust the vents to keep the windows clean for winter use. I don't have a snowblower though.
