The filter wrench that Bird has the link to is the filter wrench I use on my HST filter and is the same one the mechanic's at my dealer use. Grip it on the base of the filter and not the cannister and it will work but is still hard to get broke loose. The only other way is to use a hammer and punch on the base at it's serrations. Thanks Bird for the link.
