Well I pulled the trigger and bought a new King Kutter II tiller. This 4 foot tiller is not the one made for a BX. I did a test run and the BX did not act like it was back there. I can't wait until this weekend to work it and see what it does. No more hand tilling the garden!

You will like it.
I've had a King Kutter II tiller for years. Works great.

It will serve you well. When I was in the market for a tiller I couldn't find anything around except the red 48" sub compact tiller with cat 0 pins. If I could have found one locally I would have bought the same one as you did. I finally ordered a Phoenix 48" from ETA and am very happy.

Congratulations - it looks right at home on the back of your Kub.
You've probably done all this stuff, but just in case:
Remove the owner's manual from under the rear gate!
Check that you have gear oil in both gearboxes.
Grease the bearing zerks - PTO & main tiller rotor.
Slip the clutch.
Prepare for years of faithful service.

Nice...try to post pics of a nicely tilled garden when you are done. I have been looking at this unit as well, but still using my walk-behind for now.

I have a King Kutter Professional 48" tiller. I don't know what the difference is between the two.
Here is a picture I took that shows plowed ground and tilled ground and a video.

DaveR - I think the Professional was quick hitch friendlier.
The sheet metal on the top is different, too - less open so as to shed water better and not collect stones, soil & leaves as easily.

Thanks for sharing as your tiller and ground looks great. Tractor supply in my area sells county line products , Ive heard they are made by king cutter but not sure if that is true and if they are of the same quality as the equipment with the king cutter name on it . I noticed you have a county line mower . If you have any info on this it would be appreciated .

Oh, man - this is getting me going. Thanks for posting.

The tax man got me this year, gotta eek out one more year of hand tilling.

HEC - the county line brand looks to be a cheaper mfg - it has a chain drive, where all the KK's at Fleet Farm store are gear drive.
