Ahhh, the L3130... The little tractor that not only could - but did!
We have just over 18 acres and can't imagine life around here without our L3130. It's a TANK, a workhouse, and virtually indestructible. The only things I've ever broke on the tractor were my own fault. I bent the step taking down a 4" diameter tree after running over the trunk, I busted the headlight doing something similar, and I hosed a cylinder on the FEL trying to force a HUGE tree up by the roots.
I've plowed 5 acres using a single bottom plow - and I'm 100% confident I could have used a double bottom plow if I could have found one to buy. I'm currently tilling said 5 acre section with a Landpride RTR 1274 tiller - which the dealer said would likely be too much for the L3130 (he was wrong). I've got a 5' Bush Hog that only slows the L3130 down in really heavy/thick grass - wouldn't think of going smaller. We use the Bush Hog to cut Huisache trees down and the L3130 seems to love that chore. I've got a 5' box blade we use regularly as well. Not to mention the multitude of post holes we dug in the vineyard using the L3130 (210 holes last week alone).
And - ya'll ready for this... Yesterday we rescued a Dodge RAM 3500 Dual Cab Dually that was buried up to its axles in mud WITH a 20 foot gooseneck trailer on the back. Hooked a tow strap to the trailer, per 'er in low, and pulled the truck right out. I've also got an M7040 giving me a choice of which "weapon" I needed to get the truck out of the mud. I only hesitated a second before going with the L3130 (mostly because the Little L has R4 tires and the Big M has R1's).
My M7040 has a CAB and I'd really like another smaller tractor - like the L3130 - with a CAB as well, but I'll likely keep the L3130 even after I buy the smaller CAB'd unit. The L3130 just does too many things well to let it go!
