O.K., I found the "Instructions" section. Helpful, but still a bit like an IRS form to me - just need to keep practicing I guess.

I'm hunting around too, what I cannot find is how to just pull up new messages since I last checked. How can I do that on this new forum.

    Phazer,

You can do that several ways. First, you will have to be logged in to see the messages since your last visit. Once you are logged in, when you load the main index, you will see the number of new posts in each forum in blue, to the right of the total number of posts in that forum. Then click on the forum, and new posts have a red arrow inside of the 'post icon' folder.

Also, you can use the last day/last 2 days feature from the main index.

OK, I've got two main problems:
    1) the messages are too wide for my monitor, I have to keep scrolling back and forth to read them.
    2) When I use the last 2 days feature the results are sorted by date/time of posting and I can't seem to change it.

    Maury,
I had the same problem, Muhammad let me know that I had to set my display settings (in control panel on win 98) to at least 800 x 600, mine were at 640 x 480 when I had to scroll. The setting does make some words smaller and more difficult to read for me, at least until I can figure out how to enlarge them if possible. Good Luck, JimBinMI
