M7040 Seized Shifter Linkage - What to do?

I have a Kubota M7040 cab model that we only use for snow. It sat awhile, and when I went to drive it, I cannot get the H pattern shifter to go over into 3 and 4 easily. It will do it, but must be forced...

Moving the shifter down, from 1 to 2, is not a problem at all. However, moving it to the right to get over to 3 and 4 is very difficult.

I sprayed all the visible linkages with PB Blaster several times, and have spent time working it back and forth, however this has not provided any significant improvement.

Any ideas on what part of the linkage would effect its movement to the right? Any insight is appreciated

hi, i have the same sort of problem with my M7040, except i have no 3rd or 4th. they are not there.

M7040s have a multi-motion linkage between the shifter and the transmission, that includes a push-pull cable and adjustable links.
Inside the transmission, there are conventional detents that prevent selecting more than one gear at a time. The 1-2 shift collar (inside) has to be centered in its detent before the 3-4 collar can move. What all this means is that to allow the H-shifter linkage to activate the 3-4 gate, EVERYTHING has to be in the right spot. A small misadjustment or worn pin hole, or sticky push-pull cable can stop the show. I'd examine everything that tries to move when the shift lever moves, and go from there. Hope this is useful.
