BX2200 Valve clearance check

My BX2200 has nearly 800 hrs. on it. Maintenance requirement is for a valve clearance check and I wonder if it is worth doing. Has anyone done it? What did you find? I use my tractor for mowing and snow blowing and have not noticed any drop in performance so I wonder if this check is necessary.

Hi Barney. I did my first valve adjustment at 1170hrs. I only needed a minor adjustment to bring them into the mid-range of the specs.
Not a difficult task. Worth taking the time to check. Engine did run smoother afterwards.

I think there is one on youtube. If you have the workshop manual it walks through the process.

Thanks, I do have the manual. I'm not sure how to turn the engine over or how to determine TDC.

Did my BX24 about 2 years ago. NOT hard. Used WSM. Minor adjustments.
