I have always thought my loader was a touch weak, so I put 2000 pounds on a pallet and it would not pick it up, it should be able to lift ~2200 according to Kubota. I have not bothered to get the service manual yet since it is a little pricey. Any L45 owners out there adjusted their pressure yet? If so, how? I plan to build a pressure gauge setup to measure but I know it is low.

If 2200 is the limit, then 2000 is close enough to the limit so that it will make a difference where it is placed in the bucket. If the load is well out on the cutting edge - for example with bucket-mounted pallet forks - then the lift will be less.
I don't know anything about adjusting the pressure. For awhile I made a practice on several old tractors to mount a pressure gauge on the hydraulic pressure line where I could watch it. Cheap entertainment, but not real enlightening.

Most tractors use two typs of relief valves, screw adjustable, and shim adjustable.

If it is screw adjustable, hook up hyd gauge and start tractor and max out one of the cyl, and that will indicate the pressure developed by that cyl.

Hyd flow flow rate should be about 10 GPM

If the pressure is below specs, turn screw in to raise pressure.

If the relief is shim adjustable, then purchase a shim kit from the dealer.

Hook up gauge , start engine and max out a cyl.

If it needs adjusting, shut engine off, and select a shim or shims and install to raise the pressure.

Start engine and recheck pressure.

I will to visit the dealer to see what type of adjustment I have and maybe order a service manual. It makes for more work when I order materials and specify max 2000 lbs per pallet but cannot unload them off the truck which was one of the reasons I wanted the L45 because of the loader capacity on such a small tractor.

I had 10000 lbs of rock delivered on 4 pallets. The load was fairly evenly distributed between the 4 pallets, but not exactly so some pallets were a little more and some a little less than 2500 lbs. I was able to pickup each pallet, some just barely, and relocate them with my L39 using pallet forks. I could not lift them very high. My relief is set at 2750 psi. I could post a picture later of where the relief adjustment is on the L39. The L45 may be similar.

Thanks, that might help focus me to correct location. I ordered a service and parts manual today, but it will be next week before it comes in.

I loaded 33 bags of 60 lbs concrete on a pallet which is right at 1980 lbs (if my math is correct) and I could not pick it up with pallet forks.

On the L39, the main regulator is under the seat. There is a little access panel held on by three bolts. The knob pulls off the 3 point drop rate adjustment to allow the panel to be removed. In the picture below I circled the main relief in red. There is a jam nut holding the adjustment screw.

There is a separate relief valve for the swing pump. You can see from the back.

How much does the pallet & more importantly the pallet forks weigh? Lift capacities usually don't include implements. Also where is the lift capacity stated? Right at the SSQA? Just in front of the SSQA or a pallet length in front? Distance is leverage & leverage greatly reduces lifting capacity.

Just picked up the service manual. Lift capacity for the L45 is 2200 lbs measured at max height from the bucket midpoint. At the pivot pins is ~2700 lbs. My forks are about 400lbs, which is about the same as my bucket. The wood pallet, not sure the weight but should not be more than 50, so I would hope that it could pick up 2000 on a pallet, if not, I may have tell my wife I need a M59 after all. Or, build folks for my cat 933 loader. Now to build my pressure guage...

Stonehauler:
Thank you for the photo of the relief adjustment for the swing pump. I never checked my swing pressure.

FYI, My L39 main relief was set way low, I could not pick up the back of a shortbead 4X 2 Reg cab 1998 V6 F-150 Pick-up. Properly adjusted the L39 can pick up the rear of a Crew cab HD 8' bed Silcerado, no problem.

Also you need to set the Loader relief valves once the main pump relief pressure is set.

At ground level you can pick up a lot more than 2200 lbs with the L39/L45. See The TL1000 Loader Manual Specs attached.
As I read the graph for the rollback force, it comes out to 5,200 lbs at the pins at ground level. The L45 has more with slightly larger curl cylinders. The curl in the L39 is reatively weak compared to it's lift capacity.
I fairly sure I've lifted 2,800 lb rocks.

Right now, My new (2013 leftover) Mahindra Max28XL Shuttle has got pressure issues, See:
