I have a 2000 L3010 gst and my glow plug part # is NGK Y713R. I can't find any information anywhere on this plug. Can you help?

Can your local Kubota dealer help? Always the best bet to check with your dealer first, don't you think?

Thanks Roy,
But it is Sunday and nobody is open thanks for the info

Oops!!!!!!

True, it is Sunday!

Anyway, I did a search for those NGK glowplugs, but the 713 number wasn't listed. There was a 712 and 715 though.
So, I reckon the 713 plug may be superceded.

Just being nosy, why do you need info on glowplugs on this fine Sunday?

I'd bet his fire is out and he has some projects to handle. Problem is, I have never had to replace a glow plug in any Kubota I have ever owned. What gives??

well we're coming to conclusions...reply if anything to add.
1 month ago we got really bad diesel.
replaced filter and gas...all was fine.
saturday glow plug fowled...1/4" chip of plug gone
we get compression and are going to flush the oil system
anything else we should check?

P.S. Found glow plug...3 days out and $45 a piece!
P.S.S. Roy, I hope I didn't tick you off...jobs to get done and no tractor to do it

I wonder what cylinder got that piece of the glow plug? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif It had to go some where thru the upper end of the engine! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif If lucky out the exhaust valve!

Nah..I was the one out of line...

Boy, $45 each! Of course, they don't go bad too often. Just a pain when they do.

Liam,

I'm /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif.

Are you saying that your tractor would not start on two glow plugs, or is it that somehow all three [I assume 3 cylinders] are bad?

Did you check to make sure voltage is getting to the glow plugs?

Or is it that with the one broken plug, you don't want to risk running the tractor with that chipped plug in place? I guess that is probably the answer... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Now that I answered my own question, I will post this just in case I am wrong... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Liam:

I hope you mean bad diesel not gas. I still don't understand the chipped glow plug. Something had to chip it. Bad diesel or not, the only thing to go in a combustion chamber are diesel through the injector and air through the air filter and manifold. About the only way the glow plug could fail would be a really extended pre-heat which would destroy the tip. In that case, replace all of them. I don't want to sound accusing, but did you in the effort of starting the engine on bad diesel extend the pre-heat cycle considerably?? If you did, again, I'd replace all of them. You didn't use either?? That is a no-no. Please elaborate. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif We are all curious, especially Henro.
