Hi all,
I bought a (obviously) used F2100 a few years ago and it has been a solid machine. I cut about 2.5 acres of grass and push snow with it in the winter.
My main issue with it is cut quality. Even after a good blade sharpening, the cut quality isn't great, and clippings is a huge issue.
Unless I cut 2-3 times a week, the 72" swath the deck cuts always seems to dump a large amount of clippings. I have a cheap agrifab sweeper which seems to be very hit or miss and I've been unable to find one of the vintage baggers that was made for these machines. I've considered something like a cyclone rake, however attaching one on the back end of a very large, rear steer machine doesn't seem practical either. I usually resort to windrowing and raking by hand, which is a real pain considering how short my time is in the summer.
Anyway, my question is about replacement blades to attempt to get more lift and mulching. The problem is, they don't make anything other than a standard blade for these old decks (24 9/16" length with a 15/16" center hole).
I have no experience with Gatorblades, but would it be worth trying to adapt a set that doesn't show as an OEM replacement but has the same centre hole dimensions and approx. same length (24 1/2" Oregon part # 392-057 )?
I really love this old girl but I'm about ready to test drive a new zero turn with a bagger....
