Kubota L4060--Lifting the Seat for PTO Use

The seat is hinged at the rear, and you can activate the safety switch by pushing down lightly on the front edge; I can do it easily with one finger. I ended up using a few wraps of 6" lead flashing in a Crown Royal bag. It only takes about 4# of lead to do the trick, which is a package about 4"x6"X1/2". I actually prefer this to tipping the seat forward like my old 5240 because I can leave the lead in place and still get in and out of the tractor.

As previously mentioned, my air seat does not lift like the standard seat that comes with the tractor...it is bolted down hard. I have just learned to live with putting weight on the seat when I am using my chipper but it still pisses me off.

You can access the presence switch and short it out as I have done on my L6060 (spring suspension seat) or place a weight on the seat cushion to allow PTO operation of stationary equipment.

Thanks...this will probably be a winter project for me to locate the switch and see if there is something easy I can do like put in a toggle switch or something to bypass it when using the chipper.
