One of the 1156LL headlight bulbs died on my B2910. I ordered some 12V, LED replacements. The base of the LED is the same as the 1156LL but it doesn't work when put into the socket. I tested the LED off a 12V battery and it works. The socket works when I put a 1156LL bulb in it. Any Idea why it won't work? Thanks.

are alignment pins on led bas the same distance from the bottom? if so spin 180° and try again.

Polarity is likely reversed.

Polarity reversed or its a junk chinese made LED unit.

Ya. Got some similar ones for my RV. Instructions indicated there was a 50/50 chance it would work when you plugged it it. If it failed to work, pull it, spin it half a turn.

LEDs are polarity sensitive unlike a hallogen bulb. The 2 contacts are easy to get backwards as they aren't marked because historically it never mattered.

Look a little closer, there is only one contact on the base of the bulb, since the headlight only has one brightness, so polarity isn't an issue. The LED looks like the pin height is different, and the base diameter is smaller. I would put my money on chinese junk though.

Some light sockets have been know to have reversed polarity. If LED works when tested with battery as indicated in post one, it might be worth checking socket with meter.

Yes it is the exact same base. I will try spinning them, but I had them in and out of the sockets many times and I'm sure they got spun around.

I will check it out, thanks.
