I frequently use the FEL bucket for material handling, moving heavy garbage cans, drums, etc. It's like having a large, diesel-powered handtruck. The standard 18" high bucket doesn't provide a lot of rear support when tilting the load. I built a rear support frame out of 3/8" x 2" barstock that bolts on to the side of the bucket. The top edge is about 32" above the bottom of the bucket. two small shackles at either end and one in the middle allow the load to be secured with bunjee cords. I painted it Kubota orange so it looks like it belongs on the tractor.

Very cool modification! I could use something like that on my L35. Thanks for the view.

Good idea and a sharp looking implementation. Nice saftey feature too.

This looks quite a bit safer than having my wife ride in the bucket holding the garbage cans. Hope she doesn't read this group.

Unless my eyes deceive me, it looks like you've "scalloped" the cutting edges and sides of your bucket. Is this to improve penetration? It sure looks cool and doesn't cost as much as a tooth bar. How'd you do it?

It's an optical illusion. That's what happens when you compress a jpeg down to 20% of its original size so its less than 100K bytes. My bucket is straight (even in California) /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

That's a nice "cowcatcher" you built there. That would come in real handy on my Bota. I want one.
Next project.

Well, &*#$%$@, you mean to tell me that I went out with my angle grinder last night and ground on my bucket for nothing!? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
