I recently installed a tiny tach on my BX1500. The idle without a load (ie 54"mmm) is 1480 and max rpm around 3400 does the idle sound right or a little high??? What should the MMM be run at ????????

I also am looking at purchasing a FEL for it. The dealer quoted 2500.00 installed or 2200.00 not installed, what is the going rate for a FEL for the BX1500................Has anyone installed a FEL on a BX series before>??? If you have can you give me any ideas on what is involved and how difficult it would be.

Anyone have any ideas on the price of the front snowblower for this model???

Your idle rpm sounds a little on the high side. I don't have any experience with the 2 cylinder engines, but I think it should be closer to the 1000rpm mark. This may not be possible with that engine and the idle rpm may be kept higher to eliminate excess vibration.
I would let the dealer install the FEL for $250. The FEL on my B2400 looks like quite a job to install, let alone plumbing the hydraulics and making them work correctly! I think $250 is probably a bargain!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Your idle light be a tad high but if it's factory set then don't bother with it. The MMM should be run according to many here at 3/4 throttle which would be about 2650 rpm.

I agree with the loader. Let them do it for that little bit of money. Front end blowers are in the 2500 dollar range and rear blowers are about 1300.

Opinions are like Butt holes....Everyone has one and they all stink.
So here goes mine /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you like to diddle in the garage putting on the loader yourself can be very fun. It's not a hard job and will take around 2-3 hours depending on how times you step back to admire. A couple of weeks ago I bought a FA211 for my BX2200 and brought it home.I quickly found out that the hardest part of this job was going to be unloading it from my truck. It comes neatly packaged in a wood crate 8'x4' and fits nicely into a P/U truck. The wieght however was the problem,so I had to unpack it on the truck and unload it piece by piece.I will admit the bucket and loader arms were quite heavy but the Pain was no match for the excitement. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Heres a picture of all the pieces on the floor awaiting assembly

Step three

I removed the Left rear tire (Left sitting in the seat) and located the cover to the Hydrolic ports that the new block attaches too. This will supply the juice to the loader.

The next step was to run the first set of lines and then install the leftside support for the loader arm attachment
