Busted off the solid steel center tooth off our L-3130 with the LA723 FEL toothbar while loading up a large oak trunk into the 72" bucket. It is amazing that the tooth could even be broken off like that, I would assume it would take at least a ton or double of pressure to do this. No harm was done to the bucket however.

Bummer.
I suppose the way the teeth start off kind of flat could come in handy when trying to "scoop" something into the bucket, like a small log, but I always liked the beefier look of my ATI toothbar.

Did you find the tooth so you can weld it back on?

Haven't found the tooth yet, but still looking.

Incredible that I could snap off a 1 1/2" tooth bar with this powerful 'Bota.

It would have been more incredible if the tooth hadn't broke and the rear wheels came off the ground /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

LOL, that is a possibility.

BTW, here is what the toothbar looked like brand new, or 550 hours ago....

I've bent just the replaceable tooth on a number of mine. I have 340 hours on my L3830 but half as much paint on the inside of the bucket as yours. Yours looks pretty clean.

Skypup,

A little off topic - but what do you do with all that wood?

We split it (all Live Oak) with our Northern Tools log splitter (30 tons with 5" hydraulic ram and 13HP honda) for use in our Vermont Castings Defiant woodstove as that is our only source of heat throught the winter. The stove heats 3,500+ sq. ft.

BTW, the toothbar had 550 hours of hard work on it prior to breaking the steel shank.
