I'm long time lurker.
Please let me know if there's anything wrong with this idea.

I've been trying to make the snowthrower chute rotate using the La682 loader L2205 valve
I plumbed the fel roll cylinder in series with the hydraulic motor
The chute rotates perfectly while the roll cylinders moved in/out about 2-3" inches (didn't measure)

Look like I could mount a short cylinder onto the blower
(cyl should match fel roll cyl in bore dia and rod size, with 10-12" stroke) and plumb it up.

I do not understand how this works.(or 3 way valves?)
Other then more fluid goes into the base of the cyl
and lesser amount goes to the hydraulic motor because of the rod diameter.

A discussion and good explanation of 3-way vs 4-way valve can be found here:

3-way vs 4-way

Just scroll down a few posts until the one by JacknCoke.

As for your plumbing issue, I am not sure I understand what you are attempting. Maybe someone else can figure it out.

Here's a attempt at attaching picture of what I tried.
I'm not the best at explaining things

my wife does a better job of this techno picture stuff /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If I hook the hydraulic motor direct to the valve it only rotates in one direction andlock up when you reverse it.

It seems to work ok if plumbed like my picture
Granted a bit goofy.
Am I missing anything?

previous posts have state a 4way valve is needed ($600)

That's because you have a 3-way valve. It's all explained in the 3-way vs 4-way thread. And yes, a new valve would be needed to make it work correctly.

I've read a lot of posts about needing a 4 way valve.

But If it's hooked up like my drawing it works fine.
I've ran the chute both directions about 10 times

I can't see any negative reasons not to "rig" it this way.
But I'm not a hydraulics expert

should be able to find a cyl , hose, fittings for $100 if lucky.

Take a look at this link . The reason your motor works in the configuration you have shown is the extra volume in the BIG side of the cylinder is overcoming the smaller volume on the rod side of the cylinder in regen, keep in mind that regen is only active in the dump position of the valve. In the curl position there is no regen, therefore the way you have it hooked up, will work. I think once you have read the link you'll have a better understanding of what you have "created". You should also understand why the motor locks up when the cylinder is not installed...

thanks for the full expanation.
Make sense to me now.
might be a cheaper alternative for some people.
