Just bought a new L2800 this weekend, mainly for cutting ... and the lift shudders almost violently while lifting my SQ600. Is there some adjustment I can do, or is it back to the dealer for warranty repairs? ( I tried the knob below the seat to no avail).

If you slowly move the lever or move in rapid increments, the lift will shake or shudder but this is normal. If you move the lever rapidly all the way back, it will lift smoothly. If yours doesn't, something is wrong.

I have the same problem on my new L 3400HST. When I lift my 6' box blade it is not smooth, real jerky. The R-4's came with 30 pounds of air. I lowered them to 20. Also, after the hydraulic oil heats up it seems to help a little.

Seems the dealer acknowledges there is a problem in the pump valve of some of the 2800s but mine is the first that has come forward with the complaint. Needless to say, the dealer still owns the tractor, and I'm still looking for a brand new tractor.

Mine does it too when I pick up my mower! The dealer says there is a problem with this?

Just purchased an L2800. I am having the same problem with the lift when raising. It jerks so violently it shakes the whole tractor... Will talk to the dealer tomorrow.

This must be a common problem with the L2800's my new L2800 is doing the same thing. When you raise the three point hitch it's does it so fast that when it stops it shakes the whole tractor. What did your dealer have to say about this problem? I am contacting mine today. I know this can not be good on the tractor.

To a new tractor owner, it leaves you thinking "What the f@%#" I had the same experience with my L3400. I asked the mechanic about it and he said that is just the way they are. At first I had a real problem with it. But after some practice it will get better. I have had mine long enough, that I know that "x" number on the lift control will raise the attachment "x" amount. Give it time and you will get the hang of it. I do agree that it is a pain in the butt. I think the problem is that there is too much hydraulic fluid flow for such a small amount of lever movement. It would be nice if you could add an adjustable flow restrictor. I even asked the mechanic if they made some kind of restrictor plate that you could put in the line but he was unaware of any remedy like that.
Good luck and practice, practice practice!!!

The L2800 and L3400 are the base model L series so therefore they will not have the plush Hydrostat and the three pt will not be smooth, this is what we get when we purchase the cheaper model to save money.
This is really the jist of it.
It really is working according to manufacture specifications.
I would suggest changing the control valve with a L3130 model if it can be done.

Dealer talked to Kubota and they apparently were familiar with the complaint and offered to replace the valve with a different type. Will update after valve is replaced as to whether it makes a noticeable difference...
