What is lift capacity of BX23 3 point hitch?
I'm looking at getting a 4' rollover box blade (current Gill Model R1048 is listed at 606 pounds). I'm trying to figure out if I will have any problems using it on my BX23.
Per the manual page 2 (Specifications of the Tractor), it says the max lift force of the 3PH is 1210 lbs at the lift points and 680 lbs at 24" behind lift points.
However, on page 13 (Implement Limitations) it says the maximum weight of a box blade is 375 lbs (42" max width).
Any thoughts on this from the group?
Thanks
Bill.

IMO, 606 lbs for a BX23 might be a bit too weighty. My snowblower weights 425 lbs and the 3PH goes nice and easy but I know that I'm well over Kubota recommendations.
I'm pretty sure your BX can lift 606 lbs but you are twice above Kubota recommendations.

You might be able to lift that boxblade, but I would be concerned it's more than the BX is designed for. A 600lb, 4 ft box must be some kind of heavy duty unit! Most medium duty 6 footers are in that weight range. A blade like that is probably too much for the 3pt on a BX, both from a weight and digging potential standpoint.
What are you planning to do that would require a monster blade like that? A 3-400 lb box blade is more in line with the BX's capabilities.

It is a rollover box blade. Great for tearing up tough dirt then smoothing it out.
I have a 42" model that was sold with Sears Garden Tractors in the 70s and only weighs 140 pounds:
I wish I could find one of the older 48" models sold with John deere Garden Tractors.

If this is what it looks like, I'd love to have one for my BX2200, bet they're expensive.

Re: What is lift capacity of BX23 3 point hitch?
Well, a new Gill R1060 (5' blade) is about $1600. Problem is, the modern units are too heavy with the R1060 weighing in at 728 pounds. They just quit making the R1048 which was 606 lbs. My old Gannon (42") is listed as 140 lbs in the 1969 Sears Catalog. Not sure what the 48" Gannon weighed (but I guess about 160 lbs).
There are a few other companies making these type of units, but they are all 5' or larger. The Bushog RO-600 is 630 lbs, The Landpride RO-2560 (60") is 640 lbs. AB-Eagleline has a 66" scraper that is 750 lbs.
I wish there was someone out there making a BX weighted model, either a 42" or 48", but about 350 lbs.
Bill.
