I had a hose go on my LA302 FEL this weekend (on a B7500).
Probably have about 50 hours of FEL use (about 100 total
on the tractor).

Was one of the smaller hoses that controls the curl.

The problems was that the inside brass fixture split.

I got it fixed (actually a new one, not fixed) at a local heavy truck shop; total cost of $11.

I asked the guy if the splitting of the fixture was common, as
this was first one I had that had done this. He said no, but
the design of the hose was odd in that he didn't usually see
it with the brass inside the "nut" like that.

The one he fabricated didn't have the brass inside a nut, but
was basically one piece.

I'm just wondering if my other hose fittings are about to split
and was curious if anyone else had experienced this on any
of their connections.

The split ocurred when I was using the FEL to put my MMM
own; I had finished and taken off the FEL when I was oil
leaking down at the front.

Have not had that problem on Lucy, may be a fluke. How old is your B7500? I "thought" you'd had it less than a year. Wouldn't that be a warranty claim?

I would hope you are calling a gold chromate plated steel fitting brass. There should not be any brass fittings in your hydraulic system. They will not hold up to the pressures of a hydraulic system. If it was brass, return it to your Kubota dealer for warranty no matter how old your tractor is.

Took delivery in February 2001; was brand new.

Probably would/could be a warranty claim, but it only cost
$11 for a new hose from a local truck shop. My dealer went
out of business a few months after I bought it, and the
closest one is a 60 mile round trip.

Hopefully this one fitting was a fluke that just had a flaw in it.

It was mainly the truck shop guy's comment that the Kubota
fitting was odd that made me wonder if the other fittings
would go sometime soon too.

I called it brass, since it looked brass colored. The fitting
had a tear in it - a split - that made it look like soft metal.

I couldn't see the inside of the tear as it was recessed inside
the locking nut, so I don't know if it was brass colored all of
the way through.

Since the loader and hoses all came with the Kubota package,
I'm guessing that I do have the gold chromate plated steel
fittings that you describe (I hope). I've used the loader
pretty roughly and in 90 degree plus days, so if they were
brass which would not hold up, I probably would have had
more fittings blow by now.

Thanks.

I had the flare inside of a fitting on a loader hose split about 30 minutes after I got the tractor. It wasn't overtightened, so it must have had a small crack when it was made that split open.
