I would really like to be able to mow and drag my fields without the FEL. How much weight do I need in the front? Are suitcase weights available for the B3030 and if so how many would I need and how much should I expect to pay?

Im sure the weights are available for the 3030, i would guess the front plate would hold 4, 50 pound weights. Last time i priced them they were running around $1. per pound, steele is gone up in price since then? I have a small rotary cutter, landpride 1542, its a small swath but i can use it without the fel and she cuts like a mad dog when i put 25 pto hp through her!

The weights for the B-series tractors are BL8060-1 (55 lbs each). Each weight also requires a BL8062 bolt kit, however my dealer just grabbed the required bolt/nut from a parts bin. The B-series tractors have room for up to 3 of these counterwieghts. You can also buy a BX8064 weight bracket for the B2630/B3030 that will allow up to five additional counterweights. The list prices are as follows: BL8060-1 - $55, BL8062 - $6, and BX8064 - $92. Ten percent off of list is pretty standard.

I put 3 weights on a B8200 (weighs 300 pounds less than a B2630) and picked up a 605 pound RFM with no problem. I would imagine three is more than enough for your needs as well.

I use a 5 foot 3pt snowblower with my B2910. I don't have a FEL and steering was a little light on hard pack snow. I added three of the 55lb suitcase weights. My dealer charged just over $200 tax incl. It made a big improvement in both handling and appearence without a loader
